Job summary

Technology Consulting Inc. seeks a knowledgeable Pharmacist to join our Milwaukee, WI team for a contract-to-hire position on-site. The ideal candidate will dispense medications, counsel patients, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide safe patient care.

The candidate should hold a PharmD or equivalent and be licensed by the state board. Strong communication skills and experience with compounding and home infusion are highly valued.

Qualifications

• PharmD or equivalent degree required.
• Licensed by the state pharmacy board.
• Experience with compounding required.
• Acute care/home infusion experience is a huge plus.
• Proven record of evaluating and monitoring drug therapies for home care patients.
• Good organizational and time-management skills.
• Participation and membership in professional societies desirable.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Shift requirements: M-F 9-5:30; occasional weekend shifts about once a month, 9-5:30.

Responsibilities

• Accept and dispense prescription medications.
• Monitor patient medication compliance and over-usage patterns.
• Ensure that the supply of medicines is within the law.
• Ensure that medicines prescribed are suitable.
• Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files.
• Advise patients about medicines, including dosing and interactions.
• Provide consultations on prescription and non-prescription medications.
• Provide services such as smoking cessation, BP measurement, and cholesterol management.
• Educate patients on proper handling of medical devices.
• Compound medications for external or internal use.
• Prepare sterile solutions following proper procedures.
• Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks.
• Maintain appropriate inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies.
• Identify drug-related problems and communicate with physicians.
