Job summary

Goodwill - Redwood Empire is seeking a Payroll and Benefits Specialist to manage biweekly payroll, benefits enrollment, and leave administration in Santa Rosa. This full-time, on-site role reports to the Human Resources Supervisor and requires attention to detail, GDPR-like confidentiality, and strong communication with employees and partners.

The position offers benefits eligibility (medical, dental, vision, PTO) and a starting wage of $30.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent oral and written communication in English; bilingual English and Spanish preferred.
• Solid understanding of payroll, benefits, and leave related laws and regulations, including tax requirements.
• Two years minimum of owning the full payroll process; payroll certification or formal payroll training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process biweekly payroll cycles and off-cycle payrolls.
• Administer employee benefits programs (medical, dental, vision, retirement).
• Administer all employee leave of absence requests (FMLA, CFRA, PDL, etc.).
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and tax reporting.
• Manage payroll software/timekeeping systems and payroll records.
• Generate payroll reports and reconcile payroll accounts.
• Respond to employee payroll and benefits inquiries and provide documentation as needed.
• Adhere to confidentiality and organizational policies.
