Job summary

TAR is hiring an Operations Manager in San Francisco to run day-to-day operations of our robotics facility and workshop. You will own tools, equipment, and logistics, coordinating vendors and parts to keep engineers productive and projects on schedule.

You’ll implement safety practices, manage inventory, and drive end-to-end improvements for procurement and facility readiness, enabling fast, reliable GW-scale construction and testing.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in an operational role (workshop, lab, facility, manufacturing, or field ops).
• Track record of owning projects end-to-end, from ambiguous asks to delivered results.
• Hands-on attitude: move equipment, assemble benches, fix things yourself.
• Experience coordinating contractors, vendors, and service providers, negotiating scope & schedules.
• Strong organization and follow-through across many parallel threads with engineers and external parties.
• Sound judgment and bias for action in low-structure situations.

Responsibilities

• Run day-to-day operations of the San Francisco office and robotics facility, keeping the workshop organized, stocked, and safe.
• Own tools and equipment end-to-end: purchasing, on-site availability, maintenance, and repair.
• Coordinate contractors and vendors for facility buildout, maintenance, and specialized work from scoping to payment.
• Unblock the technical team: source parts, chase deliveries, handle receiving and returns.
• Manage purchasing and inbound/outbound logistics for the robotics program between San Francisco and the West Texas site.
• Establish shop safety practices, PPE, signage, and housekeeping in a heavy machinery environment.
• Build lightweight processes for inventory, asset, and spend tracking.
• Own special projects end-to-end, from facility improvements to new equipment installs.
