Job summary

Zeta Charter Schools in New York City is seeking a Middle School Science Teacher to lead a high-performing classroom, drive student growth, and foster a joyful learning environment. The role starts July 2027 or sooner and is fully on-site in the Bronx and Upper Manhattan.

You will plan rigorous science lessons, collaborate with colleagues, and use data to close gaps. The school offers robust benefits and relocation support for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of lead classroom teaching experience with strong student outcomes.
• Ability to use student data to inform teaching and address gaps.
• Love for children and belief in every student's ability to grow to high levels.
• Commitment to high academic and behavioral expectations with a joyful classroom.
• Strong communication and collaboration with students, families & colleagues.
• Growth mindset and openness to feedback; respond to coaching.
• Preferred but not required: NYS teaching certification or license.

Responsibilities

• Plan inquiry-driven, academically rigorous Science lessons.
• Build an inclusive, vibrant classroom culture.
• Master Zeta's curriculum and deliver exceptional instruction daily.
• Aim for 90%+ of students at or above grade level in Science.
• Use data and student work to drive achievement improvements.
• Develop strong relationships with students and families.
• Collaborate with colleagues and participate in weekly PL and feedback.
