Sinclair Broadcast Group in Chattanooga, TN seeks a Fall News Intern to join our WTVC newsroom. You’ll contribute to fast-paced, multi-platform storytelling and support reporters, anchors, producers, and photographers in both studio and field settings.

You will gain hands-on experience shooting video, writing, and helping craft compelling local news coverage while learning newsroom operations and live broadcast workflows. This paid internship emphasizes real skills and career growth.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, or a recent graduate.
• Be at least a sophomore at an accredited college/university.
• Be eligible to work in the United States.
• Be available to work on-site at WTVC in Chattanooga, TN approximately 15 hours per week for 10 weeks.
• Be able to start between August 24th - September 14th.
• Have reliable transportation (housing/relocation is not provided).
• Be passionate about local news, storytelling, and community impact.
• Thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Create & Contribute: Assist in researching, writing, and producing news stories for broadcast and digital platforms
• Be Where the Action Is: Work alongside reporters, anchors, producers, and photographers—both in the newsroom and out in the field
• Pitch Ideas: Bring fresh story ideas to the table and help shape coverage that matters to our audience
• Get Hands-On: Learn how to shoot video, frame compelling visuals, and understand what makes a story stand out
• Behind the Scenes: Gain exposure to control room operations and how live broadcasts come together in real time
