Sinclair Broadcast Group's WACH newsroom seeks a Fall 2026 News Intern to participate in fast-paced, real-world journalism. You’ll research, write, and produce stories for broadcast and digital platforms while working with reporters and photographers both in the newsroom and in the field.

You’ll gain hands-on experience across modern multi-platform journalism, build a professional portfolio, and receive mentorship from seasoned journalists who know the industry.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, or a recent graduate.
• Be eligible to work in the United States.
• Be available to work on-site at WACH in Columbia, SC approximately 15 hours per week for 10 weeks.
• Be able to start between August 24th - September 14th.

Responsibilities

• Assist in researching, writing, and producing news stories for broadcast and digital platforms.
• Work alongside reporters, anchors, producers, and photographers in the newsroom and in the field.
• Pitch fresh story ideas to shape coverage that matters to the audience.
• Learn to shoot video, frame visuals, and understand what makes a story stand out.
• Gain exposure to control room operations and how live broadcasts come together in real time.
