Job summary

Sinclair Inc. is seeking a Fall 2026 News Intern to join the WZTV newsroom. You will assist with researching, writing, and producing stories for broadcast and digital platforms, working alongside reporters and producers in the newsroom and on location.

Ideal candidates are 18+, enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, and available for approximately 15 hours per week over 10 weeks, starting between late August and mid-September. On-site in Nashville, TN with transportation access.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, or a recent graduate
• Be at least a sophomore at an accredited college/university
• Be eligible to work in the United States
• Be available to work on-site at WZTV in Nashville, TN approximately 15 hours per week for 10 weeks
• Be able to start between August 24th - September 14th
• Have reliable transportation (housing/relocation is not provided)
• Be passionate about local news, storytelling, and community impact
• Thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Responsibilities

• Create & Contribute: Assist in researching, writing, and producing news stories for broadcast and digital platforms
• Be Where the Action Is: Work alongside reporters, anchors, producers, and photographers—both in the newsroom and out in the field
• Pitch Ideas: Bring fresh story ideas to the table and help shape coverage that matters to our audience
• Get Hands-On: Learn how to shoot video, frame compelling visuals, and understand what makes a story stand out
• Behind the Scenes: Gain exposure to control room operations and how live broadcasts come together in real time
