Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking a Network Engineer for the Pre Commissioning Unit Local Area Network (PCULAN) in Groton, CT. This on-site role involves testing patches on network devices, maintaining a hardened posture, and communicating network issues to stakeholders to ensure reliable Navy support.

The candidate will work with the Network Architect, System Infrastructure, and System Security teams to implement and troubleshoot projects, with limited travel.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of networking experience.
• 2+ years of experience working with server infrastructure.
• 1+ years of experience working on system hardening.
• Current active Secret security clearance is required; ability to obtain final DoD Top-Secret clearance.
• Ability to obtain and maintain CompTIA Security+ certification.

Responsibilities

• Test and implement patches on network systems (switches, routers, firewalls).
• Assist with identifying and resolving networking issues.
• Support the Network Architect with testing and planning for new projects.
• Collaborate with the Security team to ensure compliance.
• Serve as the first point of contact for all network-related issues.
