Anakim Consulting Inc. seeks a Network Engineer to support the NASA Marshall Space Flight Center network infrastructure in Huntsville, AL.

This 100% on-site role requires coordinating with NASA customers and technicians to implement critical network design changes and resolve outages, ensuring high availability and security across the network. Responsibilities include designing and executing network changes, managing configurations, and improving capacity and security.

Qualifications

• Current NASA Public Trust or ability to obtain secure access.

Responsibilities

• Network Design and Execution: Read, interpret, and deliver network design proposals for technical teams and leadership, implementing switch OS and router design changes for legacy equipment.
• Change and Configuration Management: Perform CLI changes using SOP/TTP/WI, applying best practices and independent judgment when docs are unavailable.
• Troubleshooting and Outage Resolution: Analyze outages and perform service validation after changes to ensure stability.
• Capacity and Security Optimization: Review network capacity and security, recommending designs to remediate vulnerabilities and improve performance.
• WLAN and Infrastructure Expansion: Analyze WLAN environments and design new WAP deployments to increase capacity and bandwidth.
• Government Customer Collaboration: Provide input to government stakeholders and prepare reference docs and presentations for long-term use.
