Job summary

Teck Resources Limited is seeking an Engineeer, Tailings & Environment to support closure and reclamation planning at Red Dog Mine. The role collaborates with Senior Lead Biodiversity and other engineers to update plans, manage budgets, and deliver closure activities in line with regulatory requirements.

The position involves on-site work with a two weeks on/ two weeks off rotation and requires strong technical skills, project management experience, and the ability to work with cross-functional

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant Engineering discipline.
• Master’s degree in mine closure or related field is an asset.
• Minimum five years of experience in mine closure, mine waste management, or reclamation; seven+ preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support closure planning and implementation on-site in alignment with Teck’s Closure Standard and provide reporting on closure-related tasks.
• Support identification and migration of closure, reclamation, and biodiversity risks, develop options, evaluate and implement solutions.
• Demonstrate knowledge of environmental risks and hazards and adhere to safety policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with policies and SOPs and advise coworkers and visitors.
• Ensure closure projects meet operation needs and are completed per plans and permits.
• Prepare reports and submissions for internal and government audiences.
• Coordinate with teams to ensure readiness milestones are defined and met.
• Monitor budgets and cost performance for closure related work.
• Provide engineering support to optimize reclamation and closure management processes.
