Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree (any subject).
• Subject matter expertise demonstrated by results in teaching the content or a content‑specific degree.
• Within the first year, complete CDE READ Act training or CLD -45 contact hours.
• Pass a background check.
• Demonstrate Eligibility to work in the United States.
• We use E-Verify to confirm identity and eligibility of all new hires.

Responsibilities

• Deliver ELD instruction for middle school students, focusing on speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
• Create a culturally responsive classroom environment and engage multilingual learners.
• Differentiate lessons for varying English proficiency levels for classes 15–25 students.
• Follow scope and sequence; assess every four weeks and analyze data (e.g., Illuminate) to adjust instruction.
• Build strong classroom culture with proactive routines and family communication.
