Qualifications

• Knowledge of Medical Terminology and strong understanding of clinical documentation.
• Proficiency in ICD-10 coding and familiarity with current coding guidelines.
• Experience working with Insurance carriers, including Medicare and commercial plans.
• Ability to analyze and resolve Denials and manage claims follow-up effectively.
• Previous experience as a medical biller and/or coder in a clinical or multi‑specialty practice setting.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy in data entry.
• Comfort using electronic health records (EHR) and billing software systems.
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with clinical and administrative staff.
• Certification in medical billing and coding (e.g., CPC, CCS, or equivalent) preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; post‑secondary training in medical billing and coding desirable.
• 3+ years of medical billing and coding experience.

Responsibilities

• Review clinical documentation, assign ICD-10 codes, and ensure accurate billing for insurance carriers.
• Verify patient insurance coverage and submit claims.
• Identify and resolve claim denials and follow up on outstanding balances.
