Job summary

X-energy invites engineering interns to contribute to real reactor design and licensing efforts under guided supervision. You will work on projects alongside engineers and scientists, assisting with analyses, data collection, and documentation.

Based in Gaithersburg, MD, this 10-week, on-site program runs June–August 2027 with standard office hours and a concrete compensation framework. Applicants should be current students or recent graduates in mechanical engineering.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in or recent completion of a mechanical engineering degree.
• Hands-on knowledge in mechanical design and hardware development.
• Experience with CAD/PLM software and design documentation.

Responsibilities

• Support active engineering projects related to intern area of study.
• Assist with day-to-day technical and operational needs of the team.
• Conduct research, gather data, and synthesize findings for design work.
• Help develop reports, documentation, and presentations for stakeholders.
• Organize project files and ensure traceability and quality.
