Job summary

Vistra Nuclear Operations Company is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for 100% on-site work at the Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant in Glen Rose, TX, on a 4/10 schedule. The role focuses on design, strength of components, and regulatory compliance within a large plant environment.

You will maintain configuration control, perform analyses, and support operations with troubleshooting and post-work testing while collaborating across disciplines to ensure safe, reliable plant performance.

Qualifications

• B.S. Degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred, Nuclear Engineering preferred), or other related science/engineering field.
• Minimum of 4 years of related job experience in large industrial facilities.
• Willingness to support plant walkdowns and inspections.

Responsibilities

• Maintain configuration control by performing calculations, reviews, and design modifications.
• Assist analysis and implementation of component repairs due to degradation or obsolescence.
• Support emergent engineering work to protect the work week schedule and plant operations.
• Lead or participate in Operability evaluations and post-work testing activities.
• Provide input for testing procedures and root-cause analyses.
