Job summary

VetJobs is seeking a Material Handler in Houston, TX for an on-site role supporting production with raw and finished materials. You will manage pallets, wrap and label shipments, and operate forklifts to maintain smooth materials flow.

Requirements include a High School diploma or GED and at least 1 year in manufacturing; forklift and pallet jack experience; ability to lift 55 lbs; familiarity with resin handling and recycling is a plus. On-site position with team-based responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of manufacturing experience.
• Experience operating sit-down/stand-up forklift and pallet jack.
• Inventory experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to understand production process flow.
• Ability to lift up to 55 pounds.
• Experience with resins and material recycling preferred but not required.
• Experience operating a stretch wrap machine preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Review and monitor supplies (stretch wrap, boxes, trays, colorant, pallets, etc.).
• Check all machines for sufficient color and material.
• Inspect the forklift before use and follow the forklift checklist.
• Remove full pallets and boxes from the machines, stretch wrap and label each pallet.
• Use pallet jack when required.
• Affix labels to the appropriate cases when needed.
• Maintain and remove all boxes, cardboard, pallets, conveyors, and water tanks as needed.
• Make sure electric forklifts are equalized; use the electric lift equalizing form (OPS-FOR-015).
• Bring all scrap boxes of plastic material to the grinding area.
• Assist in preplanning jobs, perform color changes or material changes as needed.
• Move all production to hold area or PRSTG area using RF scan gun.
• Perform other duties as required.
• Maintain full water conveyors.
• Must perform required training of personnel
• Must be able to communicate well and drive to build teams
• Must be computer literate and maintain training records as needed.
