Job summary

Aero Industries in Indianapolis, IN is seeking an HR Generalist to be the primary HR contact for assigned departments. You will provide day-to-day support across employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, performance management, leave administration, compliance, training, and HR operations.

The role requires comfort working with employees at all levels in a manufacturing environment, and a proven ability to partner with supervisors to address concerns and ensure policy consistency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant HR experience may be considered.
• 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably in a manufacturing, distribution, or industrial environment.
• Experience supporting employee relations matters, including workplace investigations, corrective action, performance concerns, and policy interpretation.
• Experience with full-cycle recruiting, including candidate screening, interviewing, hiring manager coordination, offers, and onboarding.
• Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR practices, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEO, and other applicable employment regulations.
• Ability to coach and provide HR guidance to supervisors and managers.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills across all organization levels.
• Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
• Strong organizational skills and multi-priority management in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• HR Business Support: Primary HR contact for assigned departments, building relationships with employees, supervisors, and managers.
• Employee Relations: Address concerns, conduct workplace investigations, document findings, and coordinate resolution with leadership.
• Coaching & Corrective Action: Guide supervisors on attendance, performance, and policy interpretation.
• Recruitment & Staffing: Manage full-cycle recruiting, postings, screening, interviews, offers, onboarding, and agency coordination.
• Onboarding & Lifecycle: Coordinate onboarding, changes, transfers, promotions, leaves, and separations.
• Attendance & Leave Administration: Support FMLA, ADA accommodations, and other leave requirements.
• Performance Management: Support reviews, improvement plans, and development goals.
• Training & Development: Identify opportunities and coordinate training programs.
• Compliance & Policy Administration: Ensure compliance with laws and policies; assist with policy updates.
• Compensation & Benefits: Assist with compensation processes, benefits enrollment, and employee questions.
• HRIS & Records: Maintain accurate HRIS data and records; support HRIS inquiries.
• Payroll & Timekeeping Support: Assist with payroll questions and HRIS records; provide backup.
• HR Reporting & Metrics: Track turnover, staffing, time-to-fill, absenteeism, headcount.
• Safety: Collaborate with Operations and Safety on safety-related HR initiatives.
• Culture & Retention: Support engagement and a positive workplace culture.
• Presence on the manufacturing floor to identify HR needs.
• Other duties as assigned.
