Job summary

Maysteel in Allenton, Wisconsin seeks an Estimator to analyze blueprints, specs, and 3D models to develop accurate material, tooling, labor, and manufacturing cost estimates. You will work with cross-functional teams to identify the best, cost-effective manufacturing approaches and communicate with customers throughout the estimating process.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• 2–4 years of related experience, preferably in manufacturing, estimating, engineering, or metal fabrication.
• Exposure to Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.
• Experience or hands-on knowledge of metal fabrication.
• CAD experience and ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and 3D models.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work with algebra, geometry, percentages, measurements.
• Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Professional, customer-focused approach with accountability.

Responsibilities

• Analyze customer blueprints, specifications, 3D models, proposals to develop cost estimates.
• Develop accurate material, tooling, labor, and manufacturing cost estimates.
• Collaborate with Engineering and manufacturing teams to identify cost-effective methods.
• Prepare design-for-manufacturing and cost-reduction proposals.
• Identify tooling requirements and document quote assumptions and deviations.
• Track estimates from initial request through completion and communicate with customers.
