Job summary

K Manufacturing Engineer – Automotive Body Weld & Automation is based in Princeton, Indiana. This full-time, on-site role focuses on process planning, tooling design, equipment procurement, robotic automation, and launches for automotive body welding systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 1–2 years hands-on engineering experience in automotive/manufacturing environments.
• Experience with automotive body welding processes, tooling, jigs, or fixtures.
• Knowledge of manufacturing equipment design, procurement, or installation.
• Experience with industrial robotic automation systems.
• Experience with automated guided vehicles (AGVs).
• Proficiency with CATIA or CARROT3 modeling software.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to travel domestically ~10%.
• Willingness to work occasional weekends/holidays for equipment installations.

Responsibilities

• Develop manufacturing process plans and equipment specifications for automotive body manufacturing operations.
• Support the design, development, and procurement of tooling, jigs, fixtures, and welding equipment.
• Coordinate equipment procurement, installation, testing, and production trials.
• Assist with robotic automation systems and AGVs.
• Support new product launches, equipment modifications, and manufacturing readiness activities.
• Perform quality analysis, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.
• Manage project schedules, equipment installation timelines, and budgets.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process optimization.
• Collaborate with engineering teams, suppliers, and facilities.
• Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and startup.
