Job summary

Edward Rose & Sons seeks a Standby Maintenance Technician to join the on-site team at The Avenue Apartments in Columbus, OH. This role requires living on-site in a company-provided apartment and being available for rotating after-hours emergency calls.

You will manage maintenance tasks across plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and general repairs to support resident experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including a rent-free apartment, 401(k) with company match, on-the-job training,

Qualifications

• EPA certification required or obtained within 120 days of start date via company training.
• Experience in multi-family property maintenance preferred.
• Knowledge of safety guidelines and OSHA regulations preferred.
• EPA/CPO/Pool certifications are a plus.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Basic computer skills and comfort with software.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the apartment community and handle day-to-day tasks across all units.
• Evaluate, prioritize, and resolve work orders according to quality standards.
• Perform plumbing tasks including pipe fitting, shut-offs, sinks, and disposals.
• Troubleshoot HVAC, furnaces, water heaters, boilers, and electrical systems.
• Repair appliances, tile, doors, drywall, caulking, and trim.
• Monitor stock of commonly used parts and order replacements as needed.
• Respond to after-hours emergencies on a rotating basis.
• Communicate professionally with residents and coworkers.
