Job summary

Amperesand is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our Production Engineering team in Reno, NV. You will ensure high equipment uptime across manufacturing lines by maintaining and repairing mechanical, electrical, and automated systems with a safety-first mindset.

You will work closely with Equipment and Process Engineers and Operations to diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, and implement reliability improvements in a fast-paced, on-site environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience maintaining industrial equipment and automation systems.
• Automotive technician background or technical military experience may substitute for degree.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Experience with electrical/electronics, mechanical, or automation/PLC/robotics.
• Willingness to support 24/7 operations and shifts as needed.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day coverage of production line equipment and respond to alarms, breakdowns, and production requests quickly and efficiently to minimize downtime.
• Diagnose equipment failures, identify root causes, and clearly communicate findings and corrective actions to engineering and operations teams.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks on schedule and proactively improve PM documents and schedules under the direction of the Maintenance Lead or Supervisor.
• Perform major equipment repairs and rebuilds as required, including occasional weekend and holiday coverage.
• Use manufacturing systems effectively, including MES, spare parts inventory systems, and issue tracking platforms.
• Collaborate with Process Engineers, Equipment Engineers, and other cross-functional teams to resolve maintenance issues, review procedures, and improve equipment reliability.
• Follow all maintenance safety protocols at all times, including LOTO, 5S, and Arc Flash requirements, and lead by example in maintaining a safe work environment.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce recurring failures and eliminate unplanned downtime.
