Job summary

Volunteers of America Los Angeles is hiring a Maintenance Assistant I to perform minor repairs and general building/grounds upkeep at an assigned complex. You will work independently with flexible hours, reporting to a Maintenance Supervisor.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, a fingerprint clearance, and the ability to manage safety and compliance tasks on-site. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a fingerprint clearance, background check including criminal history and verifications
• Experience in facilities maintenance or construction
• Bilingual English and Spanish preferred

Responsibilities

• Maintains interior and exterior of buildings, parking lots and grounds
• Performs minor repairs (carpentry, plumbing, painting, refurbishing, landscaping)
• Keeps tools and stock organized and ensures safety checks
• Drives company vehicle for pickups and deliveries as required
• Adheres to VOALA safety policies and regulatory requirements
