Job summary

County IT Department seeks a Senior Mainframe Systems Programmer/DBA to lead complex database upgrade projects, install and test DBMS software, and support core DB environments. Candidate will manage health, performance, and capacity across IMS, DB2, and ADABAS platforms.

Requires 7+ years in systems programming/DBA with leadership, plus 5 years of Z/OS networking and hardware experience. On-site with travel to datacenters in El Segundo/Anaheim.

Qualifications

• Minimum seven (7) years in Systems Programming/DBA roles, with leadership experience.
• Five years within last eight years using Z/OS Networking skills, HCD, IODF, Z/OSMF, SMP/E, LU 6.2 and mainframe hardware experience.
• Experience with DS8884, TS7760C hardware management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and/or support complex database upgrade projects, installation, testing, and maintenance of DBMS and related software.
• Plan, install, configure, test, and manage core database products per county architecture and business needs.
• Consult with development and operations teams on database design, performance, and recovery procedures.
