Job summary

Motion is seeking a skilled machinist to set up, operate, and adjust conventional or automatic machines, producing parts per drawings with tight tolerances. The position involves fabricating parts for repairs, prototypes, and experimental equipment, with over half the time spent at customer locations.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and 3–5 years of machining experience, plus familiarity with CAD/CAM software and precision measurement tools such as micrometers and calipers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with 3–5 years of machining experience.
• Knowledge of metals, measurements and precision machining practices.
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and reading engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Machine parts to specifications using lathes, milling machines, shapers or grinders.
• Measure and test parts with micrometers and calipers for conformance.
• Set up machines, adjust feeds and speeds, and monitor performance.
• Fabricate and assemble parts, fixtures or tooling as needed.
• Install repaired parts and ensure proper lubrication and cooling.
