Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Logistics Technician to oversee supplier relationships, coordinate aftermarket parts flow, and resolve supply chain challenges to keep Caterpillar machines operating in the field.

You will partner with procurement and monitor shipments to ensure on-time delivery to U.S. distribution centers, while building strong supplier relationships and supporting continuous improvement in the Product Support & Logistics Division (PSLD).

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of approximately 25 suppliers supporting aftermarket parts.
• Collaborate daily with suppliers to monitor production schedules and shipments.
• Drive timely shipments to U.S. Distribution Centers to support uptime.
• Identify and resolve supply chain constraints due to demand or capacity.
• Partner with procurement to address supplier issues including MOQ and costs.
• Coordinate with buyers to identify alternate suppliers when needed.
• Work with engineering to resolve material issues and support alternative materials.
• Monitor supplier shipping performance and drive corrective actions.
• Manage PartsViz tasks and supplier tickets within SLAs.
• Collaborate with suppliers via MRC tools for schedule updates and commitments.
• Analyze supply, demand, and inventory impacts to mitigate risks.
• Build strong supplier relationships to support goals and improvement.
