Job summary

Harvest Food Group is seeking a Logistics Specialist to coordinate day-to-day inbound and outbound transportation supporting manufacturing, warehouse, and customer fulfillment. You will tender loads, track shipments, coordinate appointments, and maintain transportation records to keep freight moving safely and efficiently.

This on-site role at our East Chicago, IN plant requires strong organization, calm under pressure, and proactive problem solving.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of experience in logistics, transportation, shipping, distribution, customer service, or related operational role.
• Experience coordinating multiple time-sensitive tasks and communicating with carriers, customers, or cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook and Excel, and the ability to learn transportation management systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization, attention to detail, and follow-through.

Responsibilities

• Tender loads and coordinate daily transportation with carriers and internal teams.
• Track shipments and manage exceptions to keep freight moving.
• Schedule inbound and outbound appointments and coordinate with internal teams.
• Maintain accurate shipment records in MercuryGate and related systems.
• Provide timely status updates to stakeholders and escalate issues as needed.
• Identify delays and escalate risks promptly.
