Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Linux System Engineer in Oklahoma City to design, deploy, and optimize enterprise infrastructure supporting classified mission systems. This role requires 100% on-site support and coordination with cross-functional teams to ensure reliability and security across the environment.

The candidate will install and maintain Linux servers, manage patches, and support DoD policies while improving automation and documentation for ongoing mission readiness.

Qualifications

• US citizenship with Top Secret clearance and SCI eligibility prior to start.
• Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years experience or Master’s with 2+ years; additional years of experience considered in lieu of a degree.
• DoD 8140 Intermediate or DoD 8570 IAM Level II certification (or higher).
• Foundational experience with AWS and Azure.
• Experience administering Linux and Windows environments, including networking fundamentals and common protocols.
• Self-starting professional with strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and patch Linux servers (physical and virtual).
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize system performance for high availability.
• Manage OS updates, security hardening, and configuration changes per DoD standards.
• Support backups, disaster recovery, and data integrity for business continuity.
• Administer system access, user accounts, and security configurations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for deployments and modernization.
• Maintain system documentation and procedures.
• Respond to incidents and ensure security and availability.
• Promote knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across the team.
