Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Linux System Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain enterprise infrastructure supporting classified mission systems for AFLCMC. This on-site role in Oklahoma City requires strong Linux/Windows administration, virtualization, and automation skills.

The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable platforms, contributing to lifecycle management, deployments, and operational readiness in a DoD environment.

Qualifications

• US Citizen with a Top Secret clearance or ability to obtain SCI prior to start date.
• Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of experience or Master's with 2+ years; additional experience may replace degree.
• DoD 8140 Intermediate or DoD 8570 IAM Level II certification (or higher).
• Foundational experience with AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
• Experience administering Linux and Windows environments; familiarity with networking protocols and security practices.
• Strong problem-solving, self-management, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and patch Linux servers (physical and virtual).
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize system performance for high availability.
• Apply OS updates and security hardening per DoD standards.
• Support backups, disaster recovery, and data integrity.
• Manage system access, user accounts, and security configurations.
• Collaborate with teams to support deployments and modernization.
• Maintain documentation and procedures.
• Respond to incidents and improve reliability and security.
• Promote knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across the team.
