Job summary

Velocity Logistics Hiring in Secaucus, NJ is seeking a Licensed Customs Broker to manage the clearance process across ocean and air shipments, ensuring CBP compliance and coordination with internal teams.

This on-site, full-time role requires a CBP broker license, 2–5 years of experience in customs or trade compliance, and strong knowledge of HTS and ACE. You will liaise with carriers, clients, and government agencies to resolve issues and keep records up to date.

Qualifications

• Active U.S. Customs Broker License issued by CBP (required).
• 2–5 years of experience in customs brokerage, freight forwarding, or trade compliance.
• Strong knowledge of HTS, CBP regulations, and the ACE system.
• Excellent organizational and coordination skills for multi-entry shipments.
• Proficient with customs entry software and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and submit customs entries for import/export shipments.
• Classify merchandise with HTS and determine duties and fees.
• Ensure compliance with PGA requirements (FDA, USDA, EPA).
• Coordinate with internal teams, clients, carriers, and agencies.
• Monitor trade regulations and advise accordingly to clients.
• Maintain records of entries and duty payments per CBP.
• Support audits and ensure adherence to compliance policies.
• Assist with FTZ, duty drawback, and bonded warehouse processes.
• Collaborate cross-functionally for door-to-door shipment handling.
