Job summary

FreightTAS in Secaucus, NJ is seeking a Licensed Customs Broker to manage the end-to-end customs clearance process on-site. The role involves ensuring CBP and federal regulatory compliance across ocean, air, and other modes, while supporting global freight operations and coordination with internal teams and external partners.

The ideal candidate holds an active CBP license with 2–5 years of related experience, strong HTS knowledge, and proficiency with ACE and customs software.

Qualifications

• Active U.S. Customs Broker License issued by CBP.
• 2-5 years of experience in customs brokerage or trade compliance.
• Strong knowledge of HTS and CBP regulations.
• Experience with ACE system and customs software.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit customs entries for import/export shipments.
• Classify merchandise under HTS and determine duties and fees.
• Ensure compliance with PGA requirements including FDA/USDA/EPA as applicable.
• Coordinate with internal teams, clients, carriers, and agencies to resolve issues.
• Monitor changes in trade regulations and advise stakeholders.
• Maintain CBP recordkeeping for entries and duty payments.
• Assist with duty drawback, FTZ, and bonded warehouse processes.
• Support audits and ensure regulatory policy adherence.
