Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in Melbourne, FL, seeks an Electronics Engineer Manager 2 Functional Homeroom Manager to lead a section of engineers and manage SOWs across avionics sub-systems. The role combines technical leadership (80% SOW) with 20% functional homeroom management, and requires a DoD Top Secret clearance.

This full-time on-site position includes travel up to 20% and a compensation range aligned with senior engineering leadership, bonuses, and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in STEM with 9 years of related engineering experience
• Master’s Degree in STEM with 7 years of related engineering experience
• PhD in STEM with 5 years of related engineering experience
• Experience with project planning, cost, schedule & performance, including Earned-Value concepts
• Experience leading a team or project
• Active in-Scope, DoD Top Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Providing functional leadership and direction to a section of multi-disciplined engineers (typically 10-15 personnel).
• Coordinating with programs to ensure staffing actions are developed and executed relative to their section, and managing inter-program movement.
• Managing team member performance, evaluations, salary reviews, and mentoring efforts.
• Special assignments/data calls in support of the Center of Technical Excellence (CoTE).
• Driving compliance with policies and procedures including timecards, safety, security, and configuration control.
• Developing, producing and field supporting Avionics equipment (Flight Avionics, Communication, Navigation, Data Link, Computer, Network, Antenna, and other Sensor subsystems).
• The selected candidate will work full-time on-site with up to 20% travel.
