Freeport-McMoRan is seeking candidates for a laboratory/chemistry technician at Morenci, AZ. Morenci is a copper mining complex located about 50 miles northeast of Safford, offering a safety-focused, on-site work environment with housing support options.

You will perform routine and non-routine chemical and metallurgical analyses, prepare samples, maintain instruments, and assist with reporting. The role requires math/chemistry knowledge, clear written and verbal communication, and strong safety

Qualifications

• Knowledge of math, chemistry or computer skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication.
• Awareness of occupational hazards and safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine chemical and metallurgical analyses at assigned site.
• May collect samples from rail cars or trucks where applicable.
• Prepare samples using established tests and techniques.
• Assist with routine analysis and reporting.
• Maintain laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
• Perform other duties as required.
