Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan Inc. seeks candidates for on-site roles at Morenci, an open-pit copper mining complex in Arizona. You will support a variety of operations and assist in production planning, equipment movement, and safety audits.

The position involves operating heavy equipment, coordinating with supervisors, and relocating equipment during shifts. Candidates should have supervisory experience, strong safety awareness, and excellent communication skills to excel in a dynamic mining environment.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of related operational experience, including supervisory or lead experience.
• Academic and practical competencies required, including internal progression prerequisites.
• Additional certifications or licensure may be required.

Responsibilities

• Support site objectives through multiple roles to understand processes and initiatives.
• Assist in production planning with direction from area supervisor and coordinate equipment movement.
• Participate in audits (e.g., dumps, roads, safety, environment).
• Provide feedback to supervision on procedures for equipment operators.
• Move/transport reassigned employees and relocate equipment during shifts.
• Deliver essential items to employees during shifts when needed.
• Operate heavy mobile equipment as required.
• Investigate health and safety events and coordinate findings with H&S.
• Initiate post-accident testing with Field Supervisor.
• Transport employees to medical facilities for injuries or illnesses.
• Serve as Relief or Fill-in Supervisor/Dispatcher as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
