Job summary

Intertek is seeking a Lab Technician for its Caleb Brett team on site at the Signal Hill facility. The role focuses on reading, understanding, and performing test methods safely and accurately, with data recorded in the LIMS system and quality records maintained.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, plus chemistry coursework; strong multitasking and teamwork are essential, with a Monday–Friday 8:00–17:00 schedule and on-call hours as needed.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED is required; college chemistry coursework is preferred.
Ability to multitask in high production testing areas.
Strong teamwork and communication skills are essential in a collaborative lab.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel is preferred; overtime may be required.

Responsibilities

Perform chemical and physical tests using ASTM methods or industry standards.
Assist with equipment calibration, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting.
Clean glassware and test equipment; prepare reagents as needed.
Record data on data sheets and in the LIMS system; maintain quality records and lab inventories.
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and housekeeping requirements; participate in cross training.
