Job summary

American Ecotech / Ambilabs LLC in Warren, Rhode Island seeks an experienced Lab Manager to lead the service laboratory. You will supervise technicians, troubleshoot instrumentation, and coordinate repairs, calibrations, and service activities to ensure on-time delivery to customers.

The role requires hands-on technical leadership, strong organizational skills, and collaboration with sales and engineering teams to maintain high-quality service commitments.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in instrumentation service, calibration, electronics repair, or lab operations
• Experience supervising technical staff
• Hands-on training experience for technicians
• Troubleshooting and repairing electronic instrumentation
• Strong organizational skills for workload and deadlines
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar quality systems
• Experience using service management software/CRM
• Ability to read technical manuals and equipment documentation
• Strong communication with customers and vendors
• Independent problem solving and daily operations management

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily laboratory operations including testing, calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Schedule and assign work to technicians balancing deadlines and technical requirements.
• Manage RMAs, returns, and service orders from receipt to completion.
• Monitor turnaround times and communicate status to customers and teams.
• Coordinate calibration and maintenance schedules.
• Maintain equipment, tools, calibration standards, and a clean work environment.
• Monitor parts inventory and coordinate purchases as needed.
• Provide hands-on troubleshooting and assist with complex issues.
• Ensure repairs and testing follow manufacturer specs and ISO standards.
• Maintain lab safety practices and procedures.
• Support evaluations, diagnostics, and quality control activities.
• Collaborate with manufacturers on technical issues and service requirements.
• Maintain service records in Zoho and ensure complete documentation.
