Job summary

Johns Hopkins Intrastaff is seeking a cardiovascular interventional technologist to support the Suburban Medical Center in Bethesda. You will perform diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and allied staff.

This on-site role features four 10-hour shifts per week with on-call requirements and professional growth opportunities within the Johns Hopkins Health System.

Qualifications

• Current ARRT or RCIS certification.
• Current Maryland or Washington, DC licensure.
• BLS/CPR certification.
• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology or Cardiovascular Technology program.
• Minimum 3 years of CVRT/Interventional Lab or related experience.
• Experience assisting with invasive cardiovascular and interventional procedures.
• Ability to participate in an on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, and angiographic procedures.
• Assist physicians during invasive cardiovascular and interventional radiology procedures using sterile technique.
• Prepare procedure rooms with catheters, guidewires, contrast media, imaging equipment, and supplies.
• Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain angiographic and hemodynamic monitoring equipment.
• Monitor vital signs and document throughout interventions.
• Identify arrhythmias and communicate findings to physicians.
• Educate patients and families regarding procedures and post-procedure expectations.
• Maintain crash carts and emergency equipment, defibrillators, oxygen systems and trays.
• Ensure ALARA radiation safety and infection prevention standards.
• Participate in on-call coverage for emergencies.
