Job summary

Florida Virtual School (FLVS) seeks a Paraprofessional for the Florida Scholars Academy in St. Petersburg, FL. The role provides essential support to instructors, counselors, and students within the juvenile justice system, contributing to a positive learning environment and individualized student assistance.

You will work with staff to manage classroom activities, assist with intake, exams, and progress monitoring, and ensure timely, accurate documentation in day-to-day operations.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher from an accredited college.
• Two years of education from an accredited college or passing state tests.
• One year of relevant experience.
• Prior experience with special needs students preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist instructors, instructional leaders and students in classrooms.
• Maintain accurate records in compliance with state statutes.
• Provide individualized support and small group instruction as needed.
• Communicate with students, families and professionals regularly.
• Support accurate grading and alignment with curriculum goals.
• Collaborate with staff to enhance feedback quality.
