Job summary

Taco Bell is seeking an HVAC & General Maintenance Technician to support restaurant operations. This role ensures all equipment, facilities, and systems are operating safely and efficiently to provide an excellent experience for our guests and team members.

The ideal candidate has experience in HVAC systems, electrical and mechanical maintenance, and general facility repairs, with a strong focus on minimizing downtime and maintaining brand standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in HVAC maintenance and repair (EPA certification preferred).
• Strong knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment and refrigeration systems.
• Electrical troubleshooting skills (basic to intermediate).
• General knowledge of plumbing, mechanical systems, and facility maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret basic schematics, manuals, and technical instructions.
• Strong problem-solving skills with urgency in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently across multiple locations (travel may be required).
• Strong communication skills to explain technical issues to non-technical staff.
• Knowledge of safety standards and compliance in a restaurant environment.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or on-call as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, kitchen equipment, and facility components.
• Diagnose and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Troubleshoot equipment to minimize downtime.
• Repair lighting, outlets, breakers, and thermostats.
• Ensure walk-in coolers/freezers operate within temperature standards.
• Complete general facility maintenance including carpentry, painting, and plumbing repairs.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and service logs.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and food safety regulations (KFC standards and local codes).
• Collaborate with restaurant leadership to prioritize repairs and maintain readiness.
• Support new equipment installations, vendor coordination, and preventive maintenance scheduling.
