Job summary

TMS International is the leading provider of on-site, industrial steel mill services. We are seeking a Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Manager to lead our safety program in Norfolk, NE.

You will develop and oversee policies ensuring health, safety and environmental standards align with regulations and best practices. The HSE Manager will drive a culture of safety, collaborate across departments, monitor compliance with OSHA and local laws, and prepare reports for corporate headquarters.

Qualifications

• Minimum of an Associates Degree or 3 years work experience managing an industrial safety program.
• Bachelors in an ABET accredited Safety program are preferred.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
• Proven ability to develop and implement effective safety programs and training.
• Must be fluent in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint).
• Must be a Team Player and have strong work ethics.

Responsibilities

• Administers the attendance and safety incentives for each month.
• Supports company policies, dress codes, work rules, safety rules, and ethics.
• Supports the day to day operation of the Company wide EH&S program.
• Monitors and documents compliance with applicable OSHA, Federal, State and local laws and regulations.
• Investigate accidents and incidents, prepare detailed reports, and recommend improvements to prevent recurrence
• Prepares required reports to corporate headquarters
• Collaborate with management and employees to promote a safety culture and enhance safety awareness
• Maintains library of safety and environment documentation and revises when necessary.
• Documents and monitors prevention training and reporting on accidents and injuries.
