Job summary

The John Stewart Company is seeking a Compliance Specialist to determine initial eligibility for affordable housing programs, monitor ongoing eligibility, and ensure HUD, Tax Credit, and PRAC program compliance. Travel to multiple properties is required, and this is not a remote position.

You will train staff on verification procedures, review certification files, and implement on-site audit processes while staying current with program updates and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience with HUD, Tax Credit and Section 42 programs.
• Ability to review applicant files and verify eligibility.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, accounting principles and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the compliance setup and lease-up tracking reports.
• Coordinate submission of applicant files for approval to Corporate Compliance.
• Train staff on verification procedures and file preparation requirements.
• Perform on-site file audits to ensure regulatory compliance for each property.
• Prepare reports of findings and implement corrective actions with governing agencies.
