Job summary

HEI Hotels and Resorts seeks a Chief Engineer to supervise preventive maintenance of hotel systems and equipment, ensuring life safety compliance and asset protection. You’ll lead engineering staff, manage budgets, and oversee critical capital projects across the property.

You will stay current on brand standards, train managers in safety, and coordinate with facilities and operations to maintain a safe, efficient guest experience.

Qualifications

• Vocational training or equivalent in building trades (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry).
• 3+ years of hands-on engineering/maintenance experience at a hotel or similar location.
• Strong knowledge of building systems, safety standards and budgeting processes.

Responsibilities

• Supervise preventive maintenance and repairs on property equipment and systems.
• Monitor life safety systems and utilities; manage related capital projects.
• Maintain records, train and supervise engineering staff, and ensure budget adherence.
