Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience organizing, reviewing, and abstracting medical records preferred.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality expected.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and organize patient records in the correct order.
• Identify missing documentation and flag incomplete entries.
• Verify documentation from clinical encounters for accuracy.
• Notify providers of incomplete dictation to ensure timely completion.
• Maintain compliance with record completion standards and HIPAA policies.
• File, scan, and index health records into the EMR system.
