Job summary

Desert Regional Medical Center Hospital is seeking a reliable Health Information Management clerk to maintain accurate patient records. Under the Manager HIM, you will retrieve and retain confidential information and file diagnostic and therapeutic reports promptly to ensure quality care and risk prevention.

Responsibilities include responding to clinicians' information requests and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., TJC).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Regulatory requirements (i.e. TJC) compliance is expected.
• Good working knowledge of medical record principles.
• Clerical or office experience preferred; Medical Records Dept. experience preferred.
• Experience with Windows computers and MS Office.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and self-direct.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve and retain confidential patient medical information across the center and external facilities.
• File loose diagnostic and therapeutic reports into patient records promptly to ensure care quality and risk prevention.
• Respond to clinician and allied health provider information needs by supplying required data.
