Job summary

Interstate Earthworks, LLC, a Wilks Brothers company, is seeking a Mechanic for on-site work in Cisco, TX. The role involves preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of heavy equipment used in civil construction and earthwork operations.

You will troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engine issues, inspect equipment, maintain logs, and support field teams by preparing equipment for mobilization or demobilization. CDL is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; technical or vocational training in diesel/heavy equipment repair preferred.
• 2+ years of experience working with heavy equipment, preferably in civil construction or earthwork.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and heavy equipment systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Proficiency with power tools, diagnostic equipment, and shop machinery.
• Must have own set of mechanic tools appropriate for heavy equipment work.
• Valid driver’s license (CDL is a plus).

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment such as bulldozers, excavators, loaders, graders, haul trucks, and support vehicles.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engine issues.
• Inspect equipment for wear, damage, or other service needs and communicate issues to supervisors.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, service records, and work orders in accordance with company procedures.
• Use diagnostic tools and software to identify equipment issues and complete necessary repairs.
• Replace and repair parts such as bearings, brakes, hoses, seals, and other mechanical components.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Adhere to all safety procedures and company policies.
• Support field teams by preparing equipment for mobilization or demobilization.
• Occasionally assist with welding or fabrication work as needed.
