Placements24 is seeking a Mine Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance and repair of mobile fleet equipment near Paarl. This hands-on leadership role requires coordinating a team of skilled mechanics, optimizing downtime, and ensuring safety compliance to support efficient mining operations.

The ideal candidate will have a Diesel Mechanic qualification or a Mechanical Engineering diploma, 5+ years in heavy equipment maintenance, and strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive Mine Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance and repair of their mobile fleet at operations near Paarl . This critical role ensures the optimal availability and reliability of heavy-duty mining equipment, including excavators, haul trucks, and loaders. You will lead a team of skilled mechanics, manage maintenance schedules, and implement best practices to minimize downtime and control costs. This is a hands‑on opportunity for an experienced supervisor to contribute to the efficient functioning of a busy mining site, ensuring equipment readiness for demanding operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the mobile fleet maintenance team.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for all mobile equipment.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and hydraulic issues on heavy machinery.
• Manage spare parts inventory and ensure timely procurement of necessary components.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
• Conduct performance reviews and provide training to maintenance personnel.

Requirements
