YMCA of Greater Seattle is seeking an on-site Health Coach to support participants in Healthy Lifestyles Programs and Health Coaching Services. You will implement standard curriculum, deliver programs, and act as a liaison for Healthy Living, guiding members toward personal health goals.

The role emphasizes motivational interviewing, behavior change strategies, and collaboration with directors to recruit participants and deliver classes.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience in a health behavior change field.
• Experience using motivational interviewing techniques to support those seeking health behavior change.
• Ability to maintain strict program fidelity.
• Two years or more of college education in a health-related field.
• Current state approved first aid certification.
• Current state approved CPR for the Professional Rescuer certification.
• Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
• Working knowledge of chronic disease prevention health and fitness philosophies.
• Must attend and receive passing grades in YMCA of the USA and/or YMCA of Greater Seattle training courses related to program delivery prior to leading classes.
• Must provide proof of certification for Health Coaching if doing individual coaching prior to working with participants.

Responsabilités

• Administers assigned Healthy Living Program area(s) following Association standards and guidelines.
• Facilitates evidence-based health intervention group programs focused on behavior change, healthy habits, and peer support and/or provides one-on-one and small group health coaching sessions to support members in setting and achieving personal health and wellness goals.
• Utilizes motivational interviewing techniques to guide participants in identifying barriers, building self-efficacy, and sustaining behavior change.
• Collaborates with participants to develop individualized action plans, track progress, and celebrate milestones.
• Works with directors to recruit participants and deliver classes.
• Assists with workshops, special events and seasonal wellness programs for members.
• Assists with marketing and retention activities to create robust classes with enrollment numbers, meeting program standards.
• Achieves program specific target outcomes.
• May conduct outreach with local organizations and providers for program recruitment.
• Maintains records related to program following HIPAA Privacy Laws.
• Encourages member involvement and identifies potential volunteers.
• Other duties as assigned
