Job summary

The Town of Cary IT Department seeks a skilled Naviline System Administrator to maintain and support Naviline on IBM i (AS/400). You will manage security, user access, and data queries while coordinating with a third-party Naviline vendor.

Approximately 80% of time is for Naviline support with 20% for learning other enterprise apps; multi-year migration plans exist to modernize systems. On-site, full-time position with CJIS eligibility and background checks.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of IBM i (AS/400) operating environment and RPG program structure.
• Experience with Naviline modules: HR, Utility Billing, Permitting and Inspections.
• Ability to administer application security: user accounts, roles, permissions.
• Ability to develop ad hoc and operational queries using Query/400 or SQL.
• Experience using ACS to retrieve and present system data.
• Ability to coordinate with vendors and internal staff on upgrades.
• Experience with ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain user accounts, roles, and permissions in Naviline.
• Serve as liaison with Naviline vendor to troubleshoot issues.
• Coordinate with vendor for upgrades and validate with users.
• Develop queries with Query/400 or SQL for reporting needs.
• Assist users in retrieving and understanding system data.
• Track and manage service requests and incidents via ITSM tools.
