Job summary

The Town of Cary IT Department seeks a Naviline System Administrator to support Naviline on an IBM i (AS/400) platform, manage security, support users, and assist with upgrades and data access. The role focuses on 80% Naviline operations and 20% exploring other enterprise apps, with a strong emphasis on service delivery.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of experience with Naviline HR, Utility Billing, and/or Permitting and Inspections modules.
• Three (3) years of experience in IBM i (AS/400) environments.
• Three (3) years of experience managing user permissions and application security with Naviline and the IBMi platform.
• Eligibility for CJIS access and certification; background check and drug testing required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage user accounts, roles, and group permissions within the Naviline application.
• Serve as liaison between internal users and Naviline vendor to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Coordinate with vendor support teams to diagnose problems, track resolutions, and communicate updates to users.
• Coordinate and validate system upgrades and technical changes with technical staff and business users.
• Develop ad-hoc and operational queries using Query/400, SQL, or similar tools.
• Assist users in retrieving and understanding system-generated data for reporting and analysis via ACS.
