Job summary

The East-West Center invites an on-site Program Officer to join our Honolulu-based team for a one-year appointment with a possible extension. The role provides administrative and operational support to designated programs, ensuring effective work coordination, planning, reporting, communications, and budgeting across cross-departmental activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience coordinating activities domestically and internationally.
• Valid Hawai‘i driver’s license or ability to obtain within 2 months of assuming position.

Responsibilities

• Interprets, applies, and ensures compliance with participant-related policies and procedures.
• Composes participant awards and notifications, and related documents in consultation with fellows and staff.
• Manages participant awards, visas, health insurance and related documents.
• Advises participants on administrative matters and maintains cooperative relationships with diverse participants.
• Provides orientation for new participants and visitors on Center policies and services.
• Plans and oversees non-academic aspects of participants' experiences and coordinates with other offices.
• Assists in planning and administering program logistics for workshops, conferences, and seminars.
