Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in operations or general management, ideally within environmental services, construction, waste management, or a related industrial sector.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise multidisciplinary teams, manage performance, and promote a culture of safety, compliance, and collaboration.
• Proficiency in project and contract management, including budgeting, scheduling, resource planning, and oversight of on-time, in-budget project delivery.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations and safety standards (e.g., OSHA) and experience working with licensed and certified technical staff.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for engaging clients, vendors, regulatory agencies, and internal stakeholders.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify operational issues, implement process improvements, and support strategic decision-making.
• Comfort with using business software tools (e.g., project management systems, spreadsheets, CRM platforms) to track performance and report results.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience in a senior operations role will be considered.
• Ability to work on-site in Stratford, CT, with flexibility to visit job sites and customer locations as needed.
• 5+ years in the Environmental Manager role
• 40-hr HAZWOPER certification
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Expert working knowledge of the environmental industry best practices and associated government regulatory procedures
• Strong interpersonal and networking skills to build relationships with clients and direct reports

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe, compliant, and efficient execution of environmental projects across sites and contracts.
• Develop and implement operational procedures, manage budgets, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement.

• Ensure projects meet quality, regulatory, and contractual requirements.
• Coach and develop staff, foster a culture of safety and accountability, and collaborate with senior leadership on strategic initiatives.
