Job summary

Lunchtime Solutions, Inc is seeking a dependable Substitute Kitchen Helper to support school food service on an as-needed basis at Storm Lake Community School District. You'll assist with meal preparation, serving students, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen across sites.

The role offers a flexible schedule, with on-site work Monday–Friday, opportunities to work with diverse teams, and a chance to help improve student nutrition and dining experiences.

Qualifications

• Flexibility to work on an as-needed basis at various school locations.
• Strong communication skills, available to work independently or with a team.
• Ability to follow recipes, measure ingredients, and scale for large batches.
• Dependability and commitment to excellent customer service.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Fill in at school kitchens when team members are out to ensure meals continue.
• Help prep and serve menu items, keep stations stocked and clean.
• Follow simple recipes and maintain FIFO for storage.
• Maintain food safety and complete basic logs.
• Communicate supply needs and updates to your team.
• Assist with prep lists and freezer pulls as needed.
• Adapt to different school locations and teams.
• Support training of new team members when required.
